Ondo Finance has announced the creation of the Global Markets Alliance aimed at opening U.S. markets to international investors and standardizing tokenized securities.
Goals of the Global Markets Alliance
The Global Markets Alliance aims to enhance the accessibility and functionality of tokenized assets across various platforms. The alliance will work on establishing clear standards for tokenization, improving interactions among wallets, exchanges, and custodians, and boosting liquidity for real-world assets on-chain.
Role of Alliance Partners
Alliance participants such as Bitget Wallet, Trust Wallet, and Rainbow Wallet will integrate Ondo’s standards, allowing users to self-custody tokenized assets. Liquidity aggregators like Jupiter and 1inch will aid in simplifying trading, while BitGo will provide regulated custody services to mitigate counterparty risk.
Industry Leaders' Opinions
Industry leaders express hope that tokenized securities will be foundational for the next era of global finance. Nathan Allman, CEO of Ondo Finance, pointed out, "Access to U.S. capital markets has historically been gated and inefficient." Other participants emphasize that standardization, security, and infrastructure will be critical for global adoption.
The Global Markets Alliance represents a significant step toward integrating traditional finance with blockchain, potentially altering the approach to investing in regulated assets globally.
