The Solana-based trading platform GMGN has announced a compensation program for users who fell victim to sandwich attacks amid recent security issues.
Announcement of Compensation Program
Co-founder Haze revealed the new compensation program for affected users in a recent post. Haze encouraged users who have suffered from attacks to reach out to the GMGN team for reimbursement, providing transaction hash for verification.
Protective Measures Against Attacks
To protect users from sandwich attacks, GMGN implemented an advanced MEV-protection system. This is aimed at reducing threats, although, as Haze admitted, it is not completely foolproof. Users are advised to contact official channels for compensation.
Context and Consequences of Attacks
MEV attacks on Solana-based trading platforms have become more frequent, with over 260,000 sandwich attacks recorded in April 2025. GMGN, despite its smaller trading volume, faced the highest impact in ratios, accounting for about 30.8% of total incidents. Other exchanges are also ramping up their defenses against market manipulation.
GMGN's compensation initiatives highlight its commitment to restoring user trust. The program is aimed at protecting traders from manipulative practices in the face of increasing MEV attacks in decentralized finance.
