Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri announced a strategic agreement with SiGMA, paving the way for high-level events on the island leading up to the Euro-Med 2025 summit.

Minister Clint Camilleri reported a collaboration agreement between the Ministry, InvestGozo, and SiGMA to hold a series of exclusive events in Gozo over the coming weeks, linking up to the SiGMA Euro-Med 2025 summit in Malta from September 1st to 3rd. 'We want Gozo to benefit from the economic impact this global event brings to the Maltese Islands. This strategic agreement recognizes Gozo's unique potential and character,' the minister stated.
Infrastructure Development in Gozo
Minister Camilleri highlighted infrastructure advancements aiding Gozo in attracting high-value industries, such as improved digital connectivity through a second fibre optic cable, extended fast ferry services, and an upcoming airfield project. These enhancements aim to facilitate leisure and business travel, boosting Gozo’s profile as an investment destination.
Gozo's Role in SiGMA Events
For the first time, Gozo will have a prominent role in SiGMA activities, with the Ministry for Gozo and Planning participating actively. According to SiGMA Group CEO Emily Micallef, 'We are proud to launch two key events as part of SiGMA Euro-Med 2025. The Affiliate Retreat, taking place from 28–30 August, will host 50 top-tier affiliate leaders.' This partnership will also engage other stakeholders to ensure visibility and engagement from key participants.
The partnership with SiGMA marks a significant step in positioning Gozo as a strategic hub for sustainable investment and innovation, enabling meaningful partnerships for long-term growth.
