The Polygon Discord channel was hacked on August 24 using phishing links. Chief Security Officer Mehta Gupta warned members not to click on any links to avoid further hacks. One user lost $150,000 as a result. Within 48 hours of the Polygon incident, the Avalanche and Zksync channels experienced similar hacks through fake links.
