HashKey Group, a leading digital asset services provider in Asia, announced its acquisition of a VASP license in Ireland, strengthening its position in the European market.
About the VASP License in Ireland
On January 7, HashKey Group announced that it had received approval for VASP registration from the Central Bank of Ireland. This allows the company to offer fiat-to-crypto exchanges, custodial wallet services, and virtual asset transfers on behalf of third parties.
HashKey's Strategy and International Expansion
The acquisition of the VASP license is part of the company's broader strategy to expand its international presence. HashKey already holds operational licenses in Bermuda and key Asian markets like Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan. This is the company's first VASP license fully aligned with the EU’s AMLD5 directive.
Ireland's Role in the Crypto Revolution
The VASP license from the Central Bank of Ireland is crucial as it allows HashKey to operate under Irish legal frameworks. MiCA regulations aim to standardize crypto services across the EU, ensuring high compliance standards.
The acquisition of the VASP license shows HashKey's commitment to strengthening its position in the global market and developing a global Web3 ecosystem.
