HIVE Digital Technologies has completed a 100MW Bitcoin mining facility in Yguazú, Paraguay. This strategic step aims to enhance productivity and scalability.
Completion of Facility in Paraguay
HIVE Digital Technologies has completed a 100MW hydroelectric-powered Bitcoin mining facility in Yguazú, Paraguay, officially completed in June 2025. "We are excited by the traction we’re gaining after acquiring Bitfarms’ assets and launching our own site in Paraguay," said Frank Holmes, Executive Chairman of HIVE.
Expansion Plans
The company targets full capacity of 300MW by mid-2025. The construction of the new facility is expected to increase hash rate by 7.3 EH/s, with a goal of reaching 25 EH/s by late 2025.
Economic and Environmental Benefits
The project is internally funded, demonstrating financial agility. Bitcoin production is projected to rise to 12 BTC per day, potentially affecting market dynamics. The development of hydro-backed projects in Paraguay also highlights interest in sustainable energy sources in the mining industry.
The completion of HIVE’s new mining facility in Paraguay indicates a growing interest in the cryptocurrency ecosystem and the use of renewable energy for blockchain operations.
