Popular streamer Amouranth experienced a violent home invasion as armed attackers attempted to seize her cryptocurrency assets.
Details of the Invasion
On March 3, 2025, multiple armed individuals broke into the home of popular streamer Amouranth, real name Kaitlyn Siragusa, demanding her cryptocurrency. During the confrontation, Amouranth managed to escape to her husband, who was watching the events unfold through security cameras. He attempted to defend them by firing three shots, possibly injuring one of the attackers.
Arrests and Charges
According to Fox 26, suspects Dylan Nesho Campbell, Bryan Anthony Salazar Guerrero, and two minors, aged 16 and 17, have been arrested for their involvement. They face charges of Aggravated Kidnapping and Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon. Bail was set at $150,000 and $200,000 for Campbell and Guerrero, respectively, while one minor remains unidentified.
Relevance of Crypto Crime
This incident highlights the growing concern over cybercrimes targeting cryptocurrency holders. In January 2025, a UK court sentenced seven gang members for kidnapping and cryptocurrency extortion of an investor. In the same month, Ledger co-founder David Balland was abducted at gunpoint for ransom in France.
The attack on Amouranth underscores the increasing risk associated with cryptocurrencies and the need for enhanced security measures for those with significant digital assets.
