Hong Kong's government-backed Cyberport center is expanding investments in future technologies, including Web3 and artificial intelligence, aiming to solidify the city's leadership in the tech industry.

Cyberport in Hong Kong is expanding its capabilities in Web3, blockchain, and artificial intelligence. Currently, the hub hosts over 270 blockchain-related enterprises and more than 350 startups focused on AI and big data research and development.
Accelerating AI Research and Development
As part of the 2025-2026 budget, Hong Kong will allocate 1 billion Hong Kong dollars to establish the Artificial Intelligence Research and Development Institute. Cyberport's Artificial Intelligence Supercomputing Centre will increase its capacity to 3000 petaFLOPS, enabling the processing of 3000 quadrillion floating-point operations per second.
Talent Development and New Initiatives
In collaboration with the World Digital Technology Academy (WDTA), Cyberport will establish the Asia-Pacific Institute. Cyberport has signed multiple Memorandums of Understanding with universities to provide students with internship and employment opportunities. The Hong Kong government has allocated 3 billion Hong Kong dollars for a three-year AI Subsidy Scheme.
