The scammer claimed to be working at a cryptocurrency trading company based in Singapore. She convinced Ramesh to invest through the trading app and promised high returns. Initially, he transferred INR 50,000 and made a profit of INR 8,300, leading him to invest larger sums.
Police Investigation
When Ramesh attempted to cash out his earnings, the app locked his wallet. The scammer then demanded an additional payment, which he refused. Ramesh reported the incident to the police, leading to a case being registered. Authorities are currently investigating related bank accounts and mobile numbers.
