The number of crypto traders in Indonesia has reached 21 million, with 716,000 using local registered exchanges. This places the country among the largest in terms of crypto traders.
Historical Cryptocurrency Transactions
The transaction volume for 2024 exceeded 475 trillion Indonesian rupiah or $30 billion, a 352% increase compared to the same period in 2023. However, this is still below the level of 2021, when transactions amounted to $54 billion.
Indonesia in the Global Context
According to the Global Crypto Adoption Index by Chainalysis, Indonesia is among the fastest adopters of crypto. Especially younger individuals aged between 18 to 30 years are active investors, with 60% investing in crypto assets.
