The integration of XRP Ledger with the Wormhole protocol will be implemented on the XRPL mainnet and the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) sidechain. This will enable cross-chain messaging, asset transfers, and token issuance among multiple networks.

According to Ripple's CTO and XRPL co-founder David Schwartz, cross-chain compatibility is essential for true mass adoption of the technology. The integration will allow tokens issued on the XRP Ledger to be moved across different networks while maintaining control and local issuance.

June has been an active month for Ripple. XRPL has begun supporting Circle's USDC stablecoin, and the DeFi platform Ondo Finance has added XRPL for its U.S. government bond-based products. There are also plans to launch an EVM-compatible sidechain in the second quarter of this year.
