U.S. Vice President and presidential candidate Kamala Harris continues to extend her support for cryptocurrency, integrating it into her 'Opportunity Economy' agenda.
Support for Black Entrepreneurs
On October 14, Kamala Harris is scheduled to meet with a group of Black entrepreneurs in Erie, Pennsylvania, where she will discuss her support for Black-owned small businesses, cryptocurrency regulation, and legalizing cannabis at the federal level.
Opportunity Economy Strategy
According to Cedric Richmond, a co-chair of the Harris campaign, the Vice President's announcement forms part of her 'Opportunity Economy' pledge. It aims to garner support from Black men by building an economy where they can buy a home, provide for their families, start a business, and build wealth.
Support for the Crypto Industry
The Harris campaign supports cryptocurrency regulation to protect digital asset owners, which has received positive feedback from some in the crypto community, including campaign funding from Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen. However, not everyone agrees with Harris's purported change in stance on cryptocurrencies.
Kamala Harris seeks to strengthen her support within the Black community and crypto asset owners through her 'Opportunity Economy' strategy, focusing on regulation and protection of digital assets.
