THORChain developer Pluto recently announced his departure following a vote reversal on blocking transactions linked to North Korean hackers.
Pluto Leaves THORChain
In a post on platform X, developer Pluto stated he will no longer contribute to the THORChain project but remains available to Nine Realms until his responsibilities are fully handed over.
Context of the Transaction Debate
Validator TCB claims they will exit the protocol unless measures are adopted to stop the flow of funds through THORChain linked to the North Korean hacking group. TCB previously indicated they voted to halt Ethereum trading on the platform to prevent funds flow from the Lazarus group.
Response from THORChain Founder
THORChain founder John-Paul Thorbjornsen stated on his X account that none of the hacker addresses listed by OFAC and the FBI have interacted with THORChain. He supports the use of static denial lists in nodes but does not approve of dynamically updating these lists at the protocol level.
The situation surrounding THORChain continues to develop, and it remains to be seen what changes will follow the departure of key project participants.
