On February 20, 2025, Pi Network launched its Open Network, transitioning to a fully decentralized system that was previously closed to trading. After years of preparation and user verification, the network now supports transactions and ecosystem participation. Over 10 million users joined the network after migration began.
Pi Coin Launch: A New Era Begins
Coinciding with the Open Network, Pi Coin's launch allowed verified users to engage in trading. In Q1 2025, the KYC and migration period was extended to March 14. Peak data showed up to 200,000 migrations daily, but balances unverified for more than six months were forfeited.
Pi Coin Exchange Listings
Following its launch, Pi Coin was listed on several exchanges, with OKX being among the first. Trading volumes decreased after the initial excitement, but the Pi community remains hopeful for future growth.
