A major network upgrade is approaching for Kaspa, a scalable proof-of-work blockchain, with the forthcoming Crescendo Hardfork.

Preparation for Crescendo Hardfork

Testnet-10 has been operating at 10 blocks per second since March 6, 2025, and is undergoing stress testing. The mainnet upgrade is planned for late April 2025.

The upgrade represents a tenfold increase in the network's throughput, from 1 block per second to 10.

10 BPS Scaling Plans

Kaspa performs testing of KRC-20 and KRC-721 token standards, as well as zkEVM integration for improved smart contract functionality on Layer 2.
