The Lagos State Government has announced plans to reinforce traffic laws by installing speed cameras and electronic police facilities throughout the city.

The Director of Lagos State Vehicle Inspection Service, Engr. Akin-George Fashola, announced the installation of speed cameras and 3,000 e-police facilities. Cameras have been mounted at several locations, including Alapere-Ogudu Road and Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way. Violators face fines of Fifty Thousand Naira (₦50,000) but can contest fines with evidence. An online roadworthiness recertification system is also introduced.
Digital Innovations for Lagos Residents
The Lagos State Government has also launched the MyLagos App in partnership with MTN Nigeria for city navigation and access to essential services. Officials stress the importance of using technology to enhance services and simplify life for residents. However, the app is currently unavailable on app stores.
Latest Technological Investments in Lagos
Lagos is seeing significant investments in digital infrastructure. Open Access Data Centers plans to expand its data center in Lekki to 24 megawatts. The project will be completed in two phases, the first within 18 months.
