At the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Tianjin, Chinese Premier Li Qiang made a call for international cooperation in trade.
China's Stance on Globalization
Li Qiang noted that countries should focus on working together on trade rather than turning it into a political or security tool. He emphasized that 'globalization will not be reversed.'
New International Mediation Organization
Li also mentioned a pact signed last month in Hong Kong by over 30 governments that formed the International Organization for Mediation. He viewed this as an example of using 'the wisdom of the East' to solve international disputes.
China's Economic Plans
Regarding the state of the Chinese economy, Li highlighted that China will become a 'mega-sized consumption powerhouse' and will remain a global manufacturing base. He did not provide specific policies but emphasized the importance of domestic demand.
Li Qiang's speech emphasizes China's desire to strengthen international ties and maintain continuity in global economic interaction amid existing tensions.
