Following President Donald Trump's announcement of the US strategic cryptocurrency reserve, which includes Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana, and Cardano, Litecoin developers have petitioned for LTC's inclusion.

Announcement of Crypto-Infused Strategic Reserve

US President Donald Trump has revealed the creation of a strategic cryptocurrency reserve including assets like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP, Solana (SOL), and Cardano (ADA).

Arguments for Litecoin

In an open letter, Litecoin developers cited several reasons for LTC's inclusion in the US crypto reserve:

* Proven Security and Decentralization: Operating on a fully decentralized Proof-of-Work (PoW) blockchain, Litecoin has been running for over 13 years without significant outages or security breaches. * High Liquidity and Market Presence: LTC is one of the most widely traded cryptocurrencies on major global exchanges, allowing easy integration into financial reserves without substantial market volatility. * Bitcoin's 'Digital Gold' vs. 'Digital Silver': Like silver complements gold in traditional finance, Litecoin offers faster transactions and lower fees while maintaining sound monetary principles. * Institutional Support in the US: Major platforms such as Fidelity, PayPal, and Robinhood support LTC, indicating strong regulatory compliance and mainstream adoption. * ETF Approvals Pending: Multiple Litecoin ETFs are queued for listing on major US exchanges, signaling increased institutional interest. * Real-World Use: With its low transaction fees and fast processing times, Litecoin is widely used for everyday payments and remittances.

Developers' Final Message

Addressing US officials, the developers concluded: “For a truly decentralized digital asset reserve, Litecoin ticks all the boxes. Time-tested, secure, widely accepted, and institutionally backed, LTC is an obvious choice for a US crypto reserve.”

Litecoin possesses all the necessary qualities for inclusion in the US strategic digital asset reserve. The decision now lies with the authorities to consider this appeal and make a well-grounded decision.
