Mary-Catherine Lader, the President and COO of Uniswap Labs, has announced her departure from the company after four years of service. She will continue to support Uniswap in an advisory capacity.
Departure from the company
Bloomberg reported that Lader is leaving her position but will advise the company as she prepares for her next career chapter. A spokesperson for Uniswap confirmed her departure, emphasizing that the company plans to build upon the foundations she helped establish.
Role at Uniswap
Lader joined Uniswap in 2021, marking a significant shift from traditional finance to crypto. Previously, she was a managing director at BlackRock, where she led the Aladdin Sustainability team. As President of Uniswap, Lader played a central role in expanding the company’s internal structures, overseeing finance, legal, human resources, marketing, policy, and customer support.
Future of the company
Founded by Hayden Adams in 2018, Uniswap remains the largest decentralized trading protocol on Ethereum. Recent trading volumes have surpassed $73 billion. The company has yet to announce Lader’s successor, but it continues to strengthen its position within the crypto ecosystem.
Lader’s exit adds to the list of traditional finance veterans who have departed crypto firms in recent months. Despite this, Uniswap continues to play a significant role among the leading decentralized exchanges globally.
