Tokyo-based investment firm Metaplanet continues to increase its Bitcoin holdings despite market fluctuations.

Metaplanet purchased an additional 162 Bitcoins for $13.5 million, with an average price of $83,123 per Bitcoin. CEO Simon Gerovich confirmed the purchase via X (formerly Twitter).
Metaplanet's Stock Rises Post Announcement
Following the announcement, Metaplanet's stock rose 8.1% to 3,610 yen in midday trading in Japan, according to Yahoo Finance.
Company's Long-term Goals
Metaplanet aims to significantly increase its Bitcoin reserves. In December 2024, the company designated Bitcoin operations as a core business line. The firm has added around 1,300 BTC in 2025 and aims to reach 10,000 BTC by the end of this year and 21,000 BTC by 2026.
