Tokyo-based investment firm Metaplanet has announced the acquisition of 1,005 BTC for approximately $108 million, solidifying its position in corporate Bitcoin investments.
New Bitcoin Purchase
Metaplanet now holds a total of 13,350 BTC, valued at roughly $1.45 billion today. CEO Simon Gerovich stated that the average cost for this batch of Bitcoin was around $107,601 each.
Accumulation Strategy
Metaplanet's strategy aims to acquire over 210,000 BTC by the end of 2027. The latest acquisition was financed through the issuance of ¥30 billion (approximately $208 million) in bonds, maturing in December 2025.
