Japanese company Metaplanet expands its Bitcoin assets and strengthens its position in the cryptocurrency ecosystem through a recent substantial acquisition of digital currency.
Bitcoin Acquisition Strategy
On Tuesday, Japanese firm Metaplanet purchased 124,117 Bitcoin as part of its strategy to enhance shareholder value. The official release via the company's X handle stated that the average purchase price was 14,099,600 yen per Bitcoin.
Current Bitcoin Metrics
As of the time of writing, Metaplanet's total Bitcoin holdings are 1,142,287 BTC, with an aggregate purchase price of 11.372 billion yen. From July to the end of September, BTC Yield was about 41.7%, but from October to mid-November, it surged by 186.9%.
Future Plans
Previously, the company announced an 11.3 million USD (1.75 billion yen) bond issuance for procuring more Bitcoin. These bonds will have an annual interest rate of 0.36% and will mature next November.
Metaplanet is steadfast in increasing its Bitcoin holdings, making it one of the largest corporate Bitcoin holders in Asia. The company's plans for bond issuance highlight the continuation of this strategy.
