Metaplanet has announced a significant increase in its Bitcoin reserves by acquiring 2,205 BTC for approximately $238.7 million.

As of July 7, 2025, Metaplanet announced it acquired 2,205 BTC, increasing its total reserves to 15,555 BTC. At current market prices, these holdings are valued at approximately ¥225.8 billion ($1.7 billion).

Accumulation Strategy and CEO Insights

CEO Simon Gerovich stated that the latest purchase was executed at an average price of ¥14.5 million per BTC (~$108,237). Since December 2024, Metaplanet has significantly ramped up its BTC reserves, showcasing long-term conviction in this asset.

Funding and Market Position

Funding for these acquisitions has been sourced from a combination of capital market activities and operational income. Metaplanet also reported a 15.1% increase in its 'BTC Yield' during the period from July 1 to July 7. This move has solidified its position among the top five global corporate Bitcoin holders.
