Meter, a blockchain development company, has announced the open source availability of Supernova Core, a framework compatible with the Cosmos SDK. The solution is aimed at replacing CometBFT and overcoming performance and scalability challenges.

Introduction of Supernova Core

Supernova Core leverages advanced consensus algorithms and cryptographic techniques such as HotStuff and BLS, expanding opportunities for blockchain developers. The framework is fully compatible with the Cosmos SDK, offering a seamless transition for developers integrating high-performance solutions.

With Supernova Core, we empower the community to overcome the limitations of existing Cosmos SDK consensus mechanisms.Xiaohan Zhu, CoFounder of Meter

Innovation and Optimization

Supernova Core addresses scalability issues through BLS signature aggregation, enabling scaling beyond 150 validators. Its enhanced peer-to-peer (P2P) network design increases message efficiency through a layered network architecture.

Future of Supernova Core

Supernova Core’s architecture decouples transaction ordering from state processing, providing the foundation for high-performance decentralized L2 solutions. This innovative solution is now available for open-source review and will soon be ready for testnet deployment.

Supernova Core offers the Cosmos community new possibilities for enhancing performance and scalability in blockchain solutions, promoting decentralization and network resilience.
