Much-Awaited Pi Network Migration Faces Challenges

Pi Network is initiating migration to the mainnet, but many users are facing issues accessing their tokens.

Migration Difficulties After Horizon Update

Following the Horizon update, meant to mark the transition to a decentralized ecosystem, many users encountered technical problems. According to developers, over 12 million users transitioned to the mainnet, but many found their access to tokens suspended. The commonly reported issues include:

* Missing Pi balance displayed in wallets despite KYC validation; * Blocking or failures in 2FA verification crucial for completing migration; * Malfunctions of the Pi Browser app limiting access to essential features; * Lack of or incomplete migration data even after following the official checklist; * Prolonged waiting in migration queues, with some users getting stuck for weeks without feedback.

Community Sentiments and User Discontent

Beyond technical mistakes, several issues incite community discontent. One of the most talked-about is a crypto wallet identified as holding 276.56 million Pi, estimated at $179.7 million. This unprecedented concentration raises concerns and speculation, as some members believe this address may be linked to the Pi Foundation and its attempts to 'control circulating volumes.' User HaiFeng Chen expressed frustration stating, 'Give me the damn $Pi. I’ve worked hard for six years. You still haven’t mapped it. Why this constant delay?' This sentiment reflects a wider feeling of betrayal among the community.

Future of Pi Network and Restoring Trust

Despite the depth of the issues, developers and project members continue to advocate for its vision. However, the widening gap between some of the community and the development team requires urgent solutions. Uncertainty surrounding future steps and lack of clear information about resolutions breeds dissatisfaction. The question remains whether the team can restore user trust before the next migration phase set for June 28, 2025.

Pi Network continues to face challenges in its transition to the mainnet. Existing issues with token access and user discontent could have long-term implications for the project and its reputation.
