The 62-year-old retired professor was reportedly duped through an online relationship with a person named 'Ayesha' on Facebook. He was misled into cryptocurrency investments resulting in a loss equivalent to ₹1.93 crore.
Police Investigation Details
The police have initiated an investigation into the incident, registering a case under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act. Two individuals named Koyal and Prashant Patil contacted the victim, offering to help recover his funds for an additional fee.
