According to the recently released NABTEB results, only 39% out of 24,074 candidates scored 50% and above in the entrance examinations for technical colleges.
Overall Examination Results
At a press conference on July 21, 2025, the Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, Dr. Aminu Mohammed, reported that only 9,389 students passed the CBT examination, with just 1.31%, or 316 candidates, scoring 70% and above. Among the candidates, only 8, representing 0.03% of the total, achieved the highest marks. On the contrary, 14,685 candidates, or 61%, scored below 50%.
Student Placement Process
Dr. Mohammed urged stakeholders involved in the selection and placement process to identify and admit students best suited for the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes. He added: CITE_W_A "I look forward to a fair, transparent, and merit-based selection process that attracts the most talented and motivated students. By getting this process right, I am confident that we can set our students up for success and enhance the reputation of our institution."
