On March 13, 2025, Pi Network introduced two-factor authentication (2FA) to ensure account and Pi coin safety.
Introduction of Two-Factor Authentication
Two-factor authentication is an extra layer of security for users on the mining blockchain. It confirms that the Pi Wallet is yours by linking your account to a trusted email address that you alone control.
2FA Setup and Operation Process
To use 2FA, you need a trusted email. If not linked yet, the app will require a liveness check. This email is vital for account recovery. After setting up 2FA, you'll confirm your migration wallet through the app and an email from 'noreply@pi.email'.
Consequences of Not Completing 2FA
If 2FA isn't completed, your Pi might be sent back to the mining app within 14 days for account protection. Completing 2FA prevents Pi from being returned, and migration proceeds as planned.
Two-factor authentication by Pi Network provides an added layer of protection for the migration to Mainnet, keeping your assets secure.
