OKX web3 product manager Kyle Chen announced the platform's standalone wallet app is available on Google Store, later apologizing for the premature news.
App Availability
On March 24, Kyle Chen apologized to users for revealing the launch of the standalone wallet app too early. The app is currently unavailable in some regions and devices, though it can be found on the Google Play Store. However, information about regional availability is lacking, and the timeline for full rollout is unspecified.
New App Features
Chen shared a screenshot of the platform's interface and noted that the app would include a 'Token AI Narrative Summary' feature, allowing users to track market sentiments and discussions from X. These features will not be exclusive to the app and will also be available on the website, especially for users in regions where the app remains unavailable.
Response to Security Issues
Earlier this month, OKX announced a temporary suspension of its decentralized exchange aggregator due to an attempted hack, likely originating from North Korea's Lazarus group. OKX plans to use this suspension period to develop further security measures.
While OKX is actively working on expanding its wallet app's functionality, users in some regions will have to wait for the full product launch.
