OpenAI has announced that its ChatGPT search feature is now available to everyone, eliminating the need for sign-ups.

Launch and Expansion of the Feature

The search feature, launched in November 2024 for paid subscribers, was later made available to free tier users, though registration was still required. Eventually, OpenAI announced final expansion, removing the need for account logins.

Technological Advantage of ChatGPT

OpenAI's primary aim is to provide AI-driven search to everyone. The feature is powered by the GPT-4o model, allowing real-time web search responses. Unlike traditional search systems, ChatGPT provides quick and easily understandable answers.

Transparency and Source Accessibility

For transparency, ChatGPT makes its sources public. Users can view source links as icons next to sentences with external information, and a full list of sources is presented at the bottom of each response.

OpenAI continues to compete for leadership in internet search by making its features widely available and ensuring transparency of provided information.
