In 2022, data from users of OpenSea, one of the largest NFT marketplaces, was leaked. These data have recently become publicly available, raising significant concerns.

History of OpenSea Leak

In June 2022, OpenSea reported a significant data breach involving its email service provider Customer.io. A list of user email addresses was leaked to a third party by an employee of the company.

Dangers and Threats

Now that the data is fully publicized, malicious actors have access to the information, potentially leading to a wave of phishing scams and fraud targeting both well-known individuals and companies in the cryptocurrency industry.

Previously, it was not made public. Now all the leaked data has been made public in its entirety.23pds

Preventing Phishing Attacks

Users whose data may have been compromised should use strong passwords, two-factor authentication (an authenticator app is recommended), and consistently update their device software.

The OpenSea user data breach highlights the importance of protecting personal information in the digital space. Users must remain vigilant and take measures to prevent phishing attacks.
