Peter McCormack, a prominent podcaster and owner of the Real Bedford FC football club, has announced the launch of a security initiative in his hometown of Bedford, UK, in response to increasing crime rates.

McCormack stated he will fund a pilot project featuring ten guards patrolling the town center every Saturday. "As I promised, if the police won’t keep the town safe for our women and children, I will," he said in a post on X.

McCormack pointed out that "the police have failed us" and cited rising incidences of crime, including aggressive beggars and shoplifting. "Women are being harassed, shops are closing, and families no longer feel safe," he added. He has also surveyed Bedford residents about the crime issues.
