Pi Network, a project with over 50 million users, introduced new features at its annual Pi2Day event, marking significant changes in its ecosystem.
New Developer Tools
One of the main announcements at Pi2Day was the introduction of developer tools: Pi App Studio, an AI-supported platform that allows users to create decentralized applications by describing their ideas in plain language. The Pi team noted, "You can type out your app concept, and the studio builds it for you with no coding required." This offers access to development even for non-technical users.
Ecosystem Directory and Staking Tools
Pi Network also launched Ecosystem Directory Staking, a feature that enables users and businesses to vote for trusted apps by staking Pi tokens on them. "This is about letting the community decide what deserves attention," the team highlighted. This approach replaces traditional ad mechanisms with a support-based ranking system.
Infrastructure Updates and Upcoming Events
Among the new functional updates is a new version of the Pi Node software to enhance Mainnet reliability and the integration of a fiat-to-crypto onramp aggregator to simplify wallet funding. Migration improvements were also rolled out to speed up the KYC process and wallet claims, aimed at supporting the upcoming open Mainnet.
Pi Network continues to evolve, providing new tools and features for users, which may lead to increased community engagement and prepare the groundwork for an open Mainnet.
