Amid allegations from Bybit CEO Ben Zhou, Pi Network issued an official response. The project, which recently launched its Open Network and secured major exchange listings, published new safety guidelines.

What Started the Controversy?

Ben Zhou, the head of the cryptocurrency exchange Bybit, raised doubts about Pi Network's legitimacy in social media posts. This came as Bybit itself faced a significant security breach on February 21st. Zhou referred to an alleged Chinese police warning about Pi Network, claiming the project is a scam.

Pi Network's Official Response

Pi Network swiftly clarified that the police report Zhou mentioned was actually about scammers impersonating Pi Network. The project emphasized that they have never been contacted by Chinese authorities regarding any issues, and condemned attempts to deceive under their brand.

We categorically reject any claims of fraud and condemn those who attempt to deceive using our network's name.

New Safety Guidelines Released

Pi Network released a new safety notice to aid users in staying protected. It includes a list of the project's official communication channels and warns against unofficial platforms. The project also confirmed it is seeking legal counsel to tackle scammers and provided clear guidelines for identifying legitimate Pi Network communications.

In this situation, Pi Network demonstrated professionalism by focusing on user protection and providing clear information. Their response showcases the project's resilience and ability to address challenges. Such an approach might build trust in the project over time.
