Polish presidential candidate Sławomir Mentzen has proposed creating a strategic Bitcoin reserve if he wins the election in 2025.

Mentzen's Initiative

In a statement on November 17, Sławomir Mentzen confirmed that if he becomes President, he will make Poland more crypto-friendly by establishing a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. 'Poland should create a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve,' he asserted. Mentzen also mentioned that he would promote attractive regulatory conditions, including low taxes and support from banks and regulators.

Global Political Arena and Bitcoin

Sławomir Mentzen follows the example of other politicians, including Donald Trump, who also promised to create a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve during his campaign. Senator Cynthia Lummis has already introduced a bill to establish a strategic Bitcoin reserve in the U.S., currently under consideration in the Senate.

Other Countries and Their Bitcoin Reserves

A number of countries have taken steps to accumulate significant amounts of Bitcoin. In 2021, El Salvador became the first country to legalize Bitcoin as legal tender. The Kingdom of Bhutan has also been quietly mining Bitcoin for several years, amassing substantial digital assets.

Poland may become the next country to include Bitcoin in its strategic reserves, which could have a significant impact on the global crypto market.
