During the migration, users of Polygon may experience service outages, particularly with the Polygon Portal and staking app. Users are advised to refrain from performing transactions during this period to avoid failed transactions.
Technical Aspects of the Upgrade
Heimdall v2 is a modernized consensus client that manages validators and facilitates state synchronization between Ethereum and Polygon PoS. One notable change involves the transition to Base64 encoding format, affecting the keys used for transaction signing.
The Heimdall v2 upgrade offers new opportunities for Polygon users; however, caution is advised during the migration period when conducting transactions on the network.
