During the meeting in Paris, potential partnerships aimed at positioning Nigeria as a global technology hub were discussed. The focus areas include enhancing scalable cloud infrastructure, equipping the workforce with essential future skills, promoting AI innovation and research, and boosting Nigeria’s status in the global tech community. President Tinubu highlighted that special attention would be given to developing AI infrastructure tailored to Nigeria’s needs in arts, culture, and languages.
Google Partnership Goals
Awarri Technologies has emerged as a key player in Nigeria's AI ecosystem, and the federal government is collaborating with Awarri to develop software solutions tailored to the country's unique needs. Plans include developing data capture platforms and a large language model (LLM) for Nigerian languages in partnership with the National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.

The AI initiative is set to create new opportunities and empower businesses, establishing Nigeria as a significant player in the global digital economy. The Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy will oversee the strategic initiative, with implementation spearheaded by the Information Technology Development Agency.
