Early 2025 marked significant investments in US Bitcoin ETFs, a noticeable shift from the downturn in December.
Record Investments in Bitcoin ETFs
According to Farside Investors, US Bitcoin ETFs like Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund and BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin ETF attracted substantial inflows. Over two days, January 3 and 6, net inflows reached nearly $1.9 billion. Other players like Bitwise Bitcoin ETF and Grayscale’s GBTC also saw significant investments, while Invesco, Valkyrie, and WisdomTree did not log new funds.
Bitcoin Demand Outpaces Supply
Data averaged from Apollo and BiTBO revealed that in December 2024, US-based Bitcoin ETFs accumulated about 51,500 BTC, almost triple the 13,850 coins added to the circulating supply, underscoring the crucial role ETFs play in Bitcoin adoption.
Current Bitcoin Market Situation
With active accumulation by Bitcoin ETFs, the cryptocurrency hit a record high price of $108,135. Bitcoin currently trades around $101,600, up by over 8% in the past seven days, with a market cap of $2.01 trillion.
Record inflows into Bitcoin ETFs in January 2025 highlight ongoing growth in interest from both institutional and retail investors, significantly impacting Bitcoin's supply and demand dynamics.
