Ripple officially launched its stablecoin, Ripple Dollar (RLUSD), on December 17, 2024. This marks a significant step in Ripple’s expansion in the crypto industry.
RLUSD Availability on Exchanges
RLUSD is now available on major global exchanges such as Uphold, Bitso, MoonPay, Archax, and CoinMENA. Ripple plans further expansion, including listings on Bitstamp, Bullish, Mercado Bitcoin, and Independent Reserve.
Enterprise-Grade Design for Global Use
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse stated that RLUSD is designed with trust, compliance, and utility in mind. RLUSD will be integrated into Ripple's global payment system next year.
Bridging Fiat and Crypto
One of the key advantages of RLUSD is its ability to bridge traditional fiat currencies with the world of cryptocurrency. This is especially beneficial for enterprises and financial institutions looking to enter the crypto space.
Ripple plans to expand RLUSD's use in real-world applications, including its use for tokenized assets and integration with DeFi protocols.
