According to blockchain analytics platform DappRadar, AI-related activity on blockchains has significantly increased since the beginning of 2025.
Growth of AI App Activity
Currently, AI-related activity has surged by 86%, leading to an estimated 4.5 million unique active wallets participating daily in decentralized applications (DApps). DappRadar analyst Sara Gherghelas noted that the increase in AI activity is "not just hype" but reflects a "structural change" in how users engage with decentralized applications.
Funding of AI Projects
According to Gherghelas' report, $1.39 billion has been raised for AI projects so far in 2025, representing a 9.4% increase compared to 2024. While this figure still trails behind funding for companies like OpenAI, it is noteworthy that funding in the AI agent space now rivals other Web3 verticals such as blockchain gaming.
Global Distribution of AI Users
DappRadar's data shows that most AI DApp users are based in Europe, accounting for 26% of all interactions. Asia closely follows with just under 22%, while North America stands at 15.8%. Gherghelas emphasized that "AI agents are not a localized phenomenon," highlighting the diverse and increasingly cross-continental demand.
Thus, the activity and funding of AI applications on the blockchain continue to grow, underscoring the significance of these technologies in the Web3 ecosystem.
