Robinhood has announced plans to expand its bitcoin and ether futures trading products and introduced a new desktop platform.
Crypto Futures
At the annual HOOD Summit, Robinhood announced that soon users will be able to trade futures, including those based on the S&P 500, oil, bitcoin, and other assets. This initiative is supported by Bitstamp licenses and a partnership with CME. The futures products include Bitcoin Futures, Micro Bitcoin Futures, Bitcoin Friday Futures, Ether Futures, and Micro Ether Futures, which will become available in the coming months.
New Robinhood Legend Platform
Robinhood unveiled a new desktop trading interface, 'Robinhood Legend,' aimed at active traders who seek a highly customizable platform with index options. Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev stated that the new app and expanded futures offerings are designed to empower customers to better manage their financial strategies.
Future Plans and Regulation
Robinhood previously received a notice from the SEC concerning its crypto products. Despite this, the company continues to develop new offerings and is considering launching its own stablecoin. However, there are no current plans for such a product.
Robinhood's expansion into cryptocurrency futures and the launch of a new platform highlights the company's drive to provide customers with more tools to manage their investments.
