Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, has found himself among the 11 richest people in the world after the cryptocurrency reached a price of $120,000.
Bitcoin Surge and Nakamoto's Wealth
According to analytics company Arkham, Nakamoto holds 1.096 million Bitcoin (BTC), translating to over $131 billion today. This positions him 11th on Forbes’ richest list, surpassing Michael Dell with a net worth of $125.1 billion.
Nakamoto's Potential to Become the Richest
While Bitcoin recently hit a new all-time high of $120,000, this isn't enough for Nakamoto to take the top spot. Elon Musk currently tops the Forbes list with a net worth exceeding $404 billion. Predictions indicate that Nakamoto would need Bitcoin to rise 208% to reach $370,000 to exceed other billionaires’ rankings.
Comparison with Other Major Bitcoin Holders
Nakamoto holds more Bitcoin than anyone else. Corporations and custodians possess only 847,000 total, accounting for 4% of Bitcoin’s capped supply. The Winklevoss twins have approximately 70,000 Bitcoin, venture capitalist Tim Draper holds around 30,000, and Michael Saylor has about 17,732.
Satoshi Nakamoto's wealth, despite its current standing on the Forbes list, could multiply in the future, making his ascent to the top of the wealth rankings a compelling narrative.
