In recent days, attention has been drawn to scammers impersonating Binance support, posing a threat to user account security.
Scammers Methods
Scammers use platforms like Telegram to pose as Binance support. They contact victims, claiming there is an urgent issue with their account and send a link for 'resetting' login details. Clicking on the link leads to a fake site that steals user credentials and 2FA codes.
Previous Attacks
Earlier this year, several Binance users received SMS allegedly from the typical verification number, claiming their accounts had been hacked. One user, Joe Zhou, followed the scammer’s instructions and transferred funds to a fraudulent wallet but later grew suspicious and managed to minimize his losses.
Account Security
Binance management warns users to be cautious and always verify information before clicking on unknown links. CEO Richard Teng confirmed that the company operates around the clock to secure users but urged personal vigilance.
Fraud in the cryptocurrency sector continues to pose a serious threat to users. Increased vigilance and awareness of fraud tactics can help prevent losses.
