SEC Approves NYSE Bitcoin ETF Options Listing

On October 18, the US SEC approved the NYSE's application to list the long-anticipated options for spot Bitcoin ETFs.

SEC Approval

The Securities and Exchange Commission has allowed the New York Stock Exchange to list options for Bitcoin ETFs. This decision enables options trading for 11 approved ETF providers.

Listing Participants

The approved ETF providers include well-known companies such as WisdomTree’s Bitcoin Fund, BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF, ARK21Shares Bitcoin ETF, among others.

CBOE Application

In August 2024, the Chicago Board Options Exchange filed an application for a rule change to list options for spot Bitcoin ETF providers, placing Bitcoin ETF options in the same category as other commodity-based ETFs tracking precious metals prices.

The SEC's approval to list options for Bitcoin ETFs on the NYSE marks a significant advancement in the cryptocurrency market and its investment potential.
