In a troubling turn of events on June 3, anonymous scammers utilized Telegram as a tool to extract Chang's personal details following a severe data breach. Chang's investigation shed light on the alarming tactics employed by these fraudsters, who exploited the 'forgotten password' feature to gain entry into his email account.

By assuming Chang's identity, the scammers manipulated security settings such as the email address, phone number, and even Google Authenticator, including two-factor authentication (2FA), utilizing advanced video technology powered by artificial intelligence.

These unauthorized activities resulted in the misappropriation of approximately $2 million from Chang's OKX account within a single day. Currently, the account remains the primary source of information regarding the incident. Despite numerous queries from users, OKX has refrained from issuing a public statement regarding the breach. Additionally, Slowmist, a well-known blockchain security company, has not extended its assistance.

Prominent cryptocurrency analyst Wu has highlighted this novel type of theft, urging cryptocurrency exchanges to bolster their security measures and cautioning customers about the pervasive risks associated with compromised personal data.

OKX has stated that they promptly took action upon detecting the breach and acknowledged reports of account breaches. Due to their cooperation with relevant authorities, OKX is unable to disclose further details and has confirmed that the matter is sub judice.
