The Shiba Inu team announced a major Shibarium upgrade and a new partnership with TokenPlay, reflecting the platform's ambition for development in the Web3 and gaming sectors.
Shib Alpha Layer Update
A few hours ago, Shiba Inu software developer known as Kaal revealed the launch of a new feature called Shib Alpha Layer. This feature is a 'rollup abstraction' settled on Shibarium. It unifies all RollApp into a single 'ultra-fast layer' so users feel like they are on one chain while dozens of rollups operate in the background.
Kaal clarified that the ShibArmy will no longer need to switch between different blockchain bridges or 'fragmented wallets'. Additionally, Shib Alpha Layer will provide 'near-instant finality' and allow users to choose their preferred methods for gas payment. 'Instant bridging and native interoperability' are yet to be introduced.
Token Burning Program
Shiba Inu was also in the news for another reason: LUCIE, the pseudonymous marketing strategist of Shibarium, recently announced an update regarding the token burning program. Users will no longer have to wait for announcements to destroy tokens, as the process will occur on-chain in real time. This mechanic was adopted in 2021 and has already led to the burning of over 410.7 trillion tokens, leaving around 584.5 trillion in circulation.
Partnership with TokenPlay
This week, Shiba Inu also announced a partnership with TokenPlay, an AI-powered gaming platform developed by Astra Nova. The goal of the collaboration is to 'bring the future of Web3 gaming to SHIB'. The team revealed that this partnership will kick off with an exclusive Shiba Inu-themed game, which will later be followed by the launch of an arcade called Shib.fun.
These updates and the partnership showcase the Shiba Inu team's active efforts towards development and integration with modern technologies and the gaming industry, which may contribute to strengthening the token's market position.
