Sky Protocol launches Grove—a new infrastructure layer in decentralized finance backed by a capital investment of $1 billion.
Launch of Grove within Sky Protocol
Grove was announced on June 25 as part of Sky Protocol's broader Endgame strategy aimed at modularizing the protocol. It joins other "Stars" like Spark, aiming to bridge decentralized capital with real-world, regulated financial products.
Investment in Janus Henderson Anemoy AAA CLO
Sky's $1 billion investment will be directed towards the Janus Henderson Anemoy AAA CLO strategy, based on fully tokenized collateralized loan obligations. In partnership with Centrifuge, this strategy introduces a traditionally off-chain asset class to DeFi known for its yield stability.
Grove's Infrastructure and Team
Grove operates as a capital-routing layer between crypto-native projects and traditional asset managers. Its non-custodial infrastructure allows DeFi protocols to channel idle reserves into actively managed, diversified credit vehicles without leaving the blockchain environment. The initiative was incubated by Grove Labs, a division of Steakhouse Financial, with a founding team from Citigroup, Deloitte, and others.
The launch of Grove marks a significant step forward in the evolving DeFi ecosystem, showcasing the growing interest in high-quality tokenized financial products and the integration of traditional finance with blockchain technology.
