Solana developers have proposed a new method to tackle network scalability issues called Lattice.
Scalability Problem Can Be Resolved
Currently, Solana requires the 'state' of all accounts to be recalculated regularly, which becomes complex as the number of users grows. Solana Labs co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko noted that creating new accounts has become costly. The SIMD-215 proposal introduces the Lattice upgrade to eliminate the need to recalculate the state of all accounts.
Aiming for a Faster and More Efficient System
The proposed homomorphic hash feature will optimize state verification, processing only changing data. The research company Republik Labs likened this to cleaning, stating only messy areas will be organized.
Importance of the Proposed Upgrade
If implemented, the Solana network could significantly improve in speed and efficiency. Last month, it generated 43% more transaction volume than Ethereum on decentralized exchanges. The proposal is seen as a critical step for Solana to solidify its position in the cryptocurrency market.
Solana's proposal aims to enhance network performance and strengthen its market position, potentially impacting the altcoin's price.
