Sony, together with LINE, is integrating four popular mini-apps into the Soneium blockchain ecosystem, making Web3 more accessible to a wide audience.
Bringing Mini-Apps to the Blockchain
Soneium's partnership with LINE will introduce four mini-apps to the blockchain ecosystem. These include: Sleepagotchi LITE, a simplified version of a popular app with a million users; Farm Frens, a blockchain-based farming game by Amihan Entertainment with over $10 million in funding; Moonveil’s Puffy Match, a game powered by zk-L2 and AI; and Pocket Mob, a social strategy RPG where players earn 'Respect' points convertible into NFT rewards. Users will enjoy blockchain benefits such as on-chain rewards, asset ownership, and digital collectibles.
Why This Partnership Matters
This collaboration is a strategic move for both Soneium and LINE. For Soneium, integrating LINE’s mini-apps provides direct access to millions of users across Asia. LINE, with 200 million active users, offers Soneium the opportunity to bring blockchain technology to a mainstream audience. For LINE, the partnership strengthens its Web3 strategy and positions itself at the forefront of blockchain adoption, offering users new experiences through blockchain-powered mini-apps. Jun Watanabe, Chairman of Sony Block Solutions Labs, emphasized, 'LINE has built a strong presence, and integrating successful mini-apps into the Soneium ecosystem is the next step toward making Soneium more accessible.'
A Growing Web3 Ecosystem
Soneium, managed by Sony Block Solutions Labs in collaboration with Startale Labs, launched as a Layer 2 blockchain on Ethereum using OP Stack technology. Currently, Soneium ranks as the 15th largest Layer 2 network by Total Value Locked (TVL) according to L2Beat. This partnership is expected to significantly grow its ecosystem, attracting developers, gamers, and social app users. Over the coming months, the four mini-apps will be gradually integrated into the Soneium ecosystem, offering blockchain-powered in-game rewards, enhanced social engagement features for LINE users, and NFT-based incentives.
The integration of these four mini-apps represents a significant step toward making Web3 more popular by offering LINE users easy access to new blockchain opportunities.
