Sophos has updated its Sophos Firewall security system, introducing new features aimed at enhancing threat protection and management convenience.
Integration of Sophos NDR Essential
Sophos Firewall now includes Sophos NDR Essential, which is available for free to all customers with an XStream Protection license. This update leverages two dedicated AI engines to detect malware communications and the use of algorithmically generated domain names.
VPN and Security Improvements
The Sophos Connect VPN client now supports EntraID for user authentication and multi-factor authentication implementation. The interface and usability have been improved, as well as dynamic validation of the IP address pool and strict profiling in IPsec.
Additional Management Changes
More flexible DHCP Prefix Delegation options are now available, enhancing object search functionality, and enabling resizable columns in the web interface. Default configuration settings have also been adjusted to simplify initial setup.
